"I just bought a house in here"
I recently bought a lovely house in Mawson Lakes. I am not originally from the northern suburbs, having lived in North Plympton/ Edwardstown areas. My fiance is from the northern suburbs and had always wanted to live in Mawson Lakes, I was always a bit reluctant. I can say that after being here for 4 months, I absolutely love it and wouldn't pick another suburb! I love the clean streets well-manicured parks/ facilities. You just can't get this any other area, not even the new developments like Lightsview. Anyone who says it is a concrete jungle is not telling the truth, Mawson Lakes has more parks/ playgrounds/ reserves than most established suburbs and is way more green and pretty.
All the neighbours are lovely and it feels like a community, whereas other suburbs you don't get that sense. Mawson Lakes has beautiful eateries, especially the Boatdeck (personal favourite- great food!). I love that the uni is based in Mawson Lakes, as it creates a life and buzz about the place.
Everyone always goes on about having to be 'close' to the city, what for? I don't go in there unless I have too, as with many people, why would I? Everything is within a short drive. By the way, it is very close to the city 13km! If I want to go to the city, Mawson Lakes has great public transport, kind of has too, as the uni is situated here.
Let's face it if you are purchasing a house in Mawson Lakes you need to have a bit of money, as a house is not cheap in here. So for those people providing negative comments about living in here, probably don't have the money too!
A fantastic place to live whether you are single, married, retiree etc...
