Like some towns in the wheatbelt, Northam is quite lifeless especially on the weekend. If you want to buy something at the local hardware store on a sunday forget it, it will be closed as are most of the shops. Don't expect any intellectually stimulating conversations with the locals either! It is controlled by some old cronies and that''s why Northam is what it is and will remain so for many decades to come. What does it offer? Nothing, steer clear! A place to die...
