Parramatta
"Affordable housing, great restaurants, cafes, shopping, everything you need"
I am very pleasantly surprised with Parramatta - Parramatta Park is world class, there are constant cultural and artistic events (like Parramasala), it is culturally diverse and my neighbours are hard-working and polite. There are draw-backs: too many cars, a longer commute to work (although the train from Parramatta to Central takes no more than 30 minutes), it's a bit polluted and the West is hotter than Elizabeth Bay, where I moved from.
It is nothing like the Bronx.
Buying a townhouse and living in Parramatta is one of the best decisions I have made since moving to Sydney.
Great for
- Restaurants
- Historical sites
- Cultural events
- Parramatta Rivercat is one of the best Ferry Rides in Sydney
- River Precinct and Parramatta Park
Not great for
- Heat
- Cars
- Pollution
- People and Cars at Westfield
