"Sea change type lifestyle"
Love it - My wife & I moved here 2.1/2 years ago from Mackay, due to work transfers. I initially had my doubts moving to the big smoke from our beloved Mackay. All doubts & misgivings are now erased, since living in Redland Bay. The weather is mild & perfect, the neighbourhood is friendly & quiet, the suburbs & township exude a lay back, relaxed lifestyle. Also plenty on offer for everyone around the area :- parks, fishing, lovely old pub & of course, the nearby bay islands. We'll both be retiring from the workforce in the next couple of years & we couldn't think of a more perfect spot to spend our twilight years than the Redland Bay area.
Great for
- Relaxed lifestyle
- Fishing, Boating and Sports
- Growing fast with room to move
Not great for
- 15 miniute drive to the train station
Who lives here?
- Professionals
- Singles
- Families with kids
- Retirees
- Tourists
- Students
- Country Lovers
- Trendy & Stylish
- Beach Lovers
We moved back here after being away for over four years. We love it. The only concern is the public schools, the decent ones are in catchment areas so maybe look at that factor.
hi there, what is the go with the schools? we are considering moving down to the redlands/wellington point/Cleveland area next year, and would need to find a good public school with good support services.... anyone?
So I know its been a year since this post, me and my husband are thinking about relocating to Brisbane from Mackay. We love the laid back feeling of mackay and would like to get that as much as possible in Brisbane. Would you still recommend Redland Bay? If so are there specific areas that are better than others? I was looking into Victoria Point. We have 2 kids under the age of 5 so that would obviously be something we need to look into as well.
