"Great for family life"
I have lived in Cecil Hills for 20 years, meanwhile working in Sydney CBD, studied in the CBD and travel outside of AU as well. Coming from the perspective that someone would want a nice working balance life, yes Cecil Hills is far from the CBD (motorway is the best method into city) around 40-45min drive, it is honestly such a lovely suburb.
Very family-friendly and homey vibe from the area. It's nice and quiet, with the occasional party of someone's birthday here and there but nothing to fuss over. My neighbours across and beside my house, I know each person and their family but also when they hold BBQ they would invite us! We thoroughly enjoy the peace and quiet at my house, provides a nice getaway after a long day at work. I can just wake up abit earlier and go for a run/feed the ducks then head back into car and drive off to work.
There is the highschool and primary school there which are great for those with kids. Having gone school there, very multicultural area and school (alot of students from surrounding suburbs apply & end up on waiting list). You can say the suburb and school is probably one of the best in the bunch!
Obviously aware of the reputation the "south west"/'west" has in Sydney, I think that this view is very narrow minded as there are a lot of bright students that come out of the area. Whilst there are bad eggs, which place doesn't right? Media likes to portray it in such a way that negatively gears thoughts about the western Suburbs but if you truly go and explore there, there is more than what meets the eye.
About surrounding areas, about a 15-20 min drive you can easily access restaurants, places to eat, pubs, train stations and supermarkets. (i.e canley heights, bonnyrigg, cabramatta, liverpool).
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
- Retirees
Very well said!
