"Deserves a minus"

Very difficult place socially. Many rivalries and long-standing hatred between families, people. These are country people and HATE outsiders. Tourists are a 'tolerated' income stream.
Place thrives on lies and dissension, they make up their own version of thing then spread it as though it's truth. The town is severely lacking in identity, and noone wants anything to do with each other.
You learn pretty quickly that you will never make friends here and you can't trust anyone. People selling after 20 years because locals keep the door firmly shut against outsiders and each other. There are better places than this to live. Be very careful to buy here, it can take you 7-8 years to sell. Our contracts finished, were very excited to leave. In WA now, can hardly believe the difference in people. Our advice: do your homework. Don't believe a word that the real estate agents speak. Everyone will try to rip you.
