stans
Reviews
Not sure what criteria stans is basing that on. Have lived in FG for 6 years now...there is a handful of public housing near the state school but its hardly the projects... No crime issues for us at all. A police station close by...on the edge of great mountainbiking trails, good local schools (which my kids safely walk to), small shops and train station all walkable distance. Samford road, like all arterial roads, does carry some traffic in the morning, especially around mitchelton. The only downer for me is that it might be too quiet...except for the lovely birds. Highly recommend for famillies and those wanting to commute by train to the CBD. Bordered by brisbane forest park.
Having lived in Ferny Grove for more than 25 years, I can categorically state that it is not rough. In fact bogans would be few and far between. I think I saw one in 1998.
Wrong Ferny grove?
y be another state, country or you are overdue your depot injection yourself?
"Hard hit by GFC"
Helensvale has been badly hit by the GFC and many people are losing there homes due to rising interest rates. Still prices in the suburb are too expensive for my liking. On the plus side Helensvale Westfield is a nice new shopping centre.
"Seeking the country life?"
Maudsland is great suburbs for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle or Brisbane CBD or the Glitz and Glam of the Gold Coast. Maudsland is quiet leafy suburb where you can find large acreage blocks. Appeals to a select group mainly families with kids and couples.

"Great for families"
Oxenford appeals to younger families that are either working on the Gold Coast or Brisbane. With traffic Brisbane is about an hour drive and Gold Coast is only 20-25 minutes to reach the beach. I think the suburb is still fairly affordable although there are other suburbs that are more competitive with pricing for new and existing homes.

Ahh yes, the "1 hr" commute to Brisbane eh? Yeah , Nah. Perhaps if you leave at 0430hrs with the remainder of QLD's tradie workforce, you might not sit in traffic at Gaza. But most likely, not. The M1 freeway is quite possibly the nearest to the wort freeway in QLD, and it will only get worse, not better. Nevermind, just take the over priced train service, that'll take 59 mins thanks. And you still get to sit in traffic after work on the M1 as well! Brilliant. This "gold coast" lifestyle certainly ain't what it panned out to be! And it's getting worse!
"GRRREEEATTTT!"

"noisy and lots of traffic"
West end is very noisy and has lots of traffic. Yes it has some nice restaurants although there is no parking.
"Close to the CBD"
It is close to the CBD and can get very congested with traffic during peak hour.
"Great suburb"
My heart yearns for coomera.. some great houses in coomera waters would love to have a new home here.
"The eagle soars!"
You can still find cheap property in Eagleby its just harder now than before.
"Fantastic street appeal"
This street is elevated and some houses enjoy spectacular views. Close to restaurants, bars, entertainment and scenic parks etc.

"Hexxy"
2 rich for me sydneys eastern suburbs seems to be more expensive than london to rent or buy nowadays.
"2 rich for me"
Great place to live just way to expensive. 1 bedroom apartments in the city fetch rental prices of 600+ which is absolutely ridiculous for anyone wanting to rent or alternatively buy a 1 bedroom apartment for 500-600

"Great place to rent and buy"
The Entrance has a shortage of rental properties in the area, although the ones available are still at reasonable prices. Can get a modern two bedroom unit right near the beach for $350-400 per week. Great place to getaway from Sydney and only a short 1 hour+ drive.
2 bedroom apartments varying in size, quality and location are price between $320,000-$420,000 and can find older style apartments in the high 200's for something decent.
Great for
- Fantastic beaches
- Only 1+ hour to Sydney by car
- Relaxed Lifestyle

"Affordable place to live"
Not far from Brisbane City and still affordable place to live and rent. Ipswich is only 15 minutes drive if you like a country city.
