Bordered by Lutwyche, Clayfield, Nundah and Kedron peeps in this suburb enjoy all the conveniences of being 5-10mins to big shops, CBD, Valley, Airport, Hwy without all the car/air traffic, road congestion/pollution/parking issues, high crime stats and huge property price tags. Community feel without being in your neighbours pocket like Lutwyche. Mix of big family homes and vintage unit blocks Wooloowin draws young and mature families and singles in and they stay. You know you've found a good spot when there's little change in owners and renters. Love it!

We moved here from Sydney a year ago and we are so happy with how close is to everything. We’ve got daycare And shops walking distance from our house, also we can be in the city in 15 mins. We even have city views. Everyone is nice in the area and it’s safe :) we are really happy living here.

Good, central train access to the city. Like its neighbouring suburb of Wavell Heights,Wooloowin has become a corridor of major rat runs to and from the city, bringing with it a lot of traffic and noise. Have to drive to get to any decent shops or entertainment locations and so close to the tunnel links but yet so far? Nothing stands out in Wooloowin as being a drawcard other than its quite central to everything good around it in neighbouring suburbs and reasonably close to the city.

A lovely spot to live and for the kids to grow up. Lots of parks and sports. Great sense of community not far from the city and beautiful old houses

A great suburb, close to lots of parks and green space, and in a great position to go anywhere. Brilliant transport and nice people without pretence of surrounding suburbs Clayfield and Ascot.

We came from the Southside of Brisbane and have found Wooloowin to be very close to critical amenities, shopping and in particular parks for the family. I am only 8 minutes drive to the city (non-peak hour, say 7am).

I live and work in Wooloowin and it is one of the best suburbs that I have lived in. The area is extremely popular with families, particularly the streets adjoining Kalinga Park. Kalinga Park in a great meeting point that locals frequent regularly, great open spaces with plenty of greenery. There is a huge playground for the kids and is a popular spot for BBQ's, sports, and has a jogging/bike track along the Kedron Brook. The council occasionally puts on free movie nights in the park which is a bonus. Kalinga Park also has a great history dating back to just after the World War when return servicemen were employed to plant trees and develop the roadway along 'Diggers Drive', which is probably where the strong sense of community originated from

There are a number of great local businesses, coffeeguy on Shaw Rd has the best coffee and snacks, Ann's Body Boutique on Shaw Rd is good for facials, massages etc and Step Out fitness on Lodge Road has great personal trainers and regularly have outdoor training sessions in the park.

If you are after hustle and bustle and night life then this is probably not the area for you, however it is so close to the City, Racecourse Road and Portside that you are only a short drive from the best bars and restaurants.

The homes in the area are stunning, predominantly Queenslanders on large blocks which are slowly but surely all being renovated into stunning homes. The homes are mostly owner occupied with few units and rentals which is another positive for families.

Wooloowin is a great place to live - and I plan on staying there for a long time
