"Where Country meets City ..."

I lived in Sydney for 20 years and made the decision to move to the best kept Central Coast City of Wyong in 2011. That was the best decision I have ever made.

Since moving away from Sydney high living costs, horrendous traffic, high toll free just to sit in a slow moving carpark, 40 km/h school zone every 500 metres travelling to & from work, parking issues no matter where in Sydney - life has been much more relaxing and enjoyable for us.

Imagine driving from A to B without having to stop at the red light every couple of minutes, shops and schools are within walking distance, abundance of public sporting facilities i.e. Wyong Regional Sporting Complex, right in Wyong Central Business District, which can accommodate netball, tennis, cricket, football, swimming training and Regional competitions. This complex is adjacent to Wyong Racecourse and within walking to Karoondah Waters Golf Course, Resort and Wyong Golf Course, etc.

Wyong is the midpoint between Sydney and Newcastle. Locals have options to stay and work in Wyong Shire or travel to Sydney or Newcastle which takes less than an hour using F3 Motorway (takes 5 minutes to get on F3 from Wyong), rail or bus services are prompt and sufficient. Gosford City and The Entrance are 15 minutes away. Local pristine and surf beaches are just a short drive away.

Massive one retail level Tuggerah Westfield, about 4 minutes away from Wyong, has pretty much all the retail chains, Event Cinema and a vibrant restaurant precinct which provides a range of multi-cultural cuisines, live musical performance, great settings and friendly service. All of those create a nice, pleasant and relaxing environment to be in for the locals and visitors.

There are so many options of where to shop and what to do here.

Wyong Shire Council is very conscious about the environment, yet also focus on local employment opportunities. Everywhere you go within the Shire, you will find abundance of parklands, natural bushlands, park and local reserves along the Coast and Wyong River.

Housing price in Wyong is still very affordable comparing to Sydney prices yet rental returns are very attractive.

Great for

  • Safe and friendly environment
  • Plenty of public sporting facilities
  • Nice place to raise family

Not great for

  • Night life

"Great place for families"

We moved here from Sydney and have not regretted it! Its a lifestyle change! Wadalba has all the conveniences you need - a great local Coles, great childcare, great schools and so close to the lake, beaches, shops and transport (about 5 mins to F3). The people are friendly. The area is safe for families. We happily recommend our new Neighborhood to anyone. We are in the beautiful Hilltop Estate, Wadalba - Lexington Ave & Karalee Sts. Only 2 streets in this estate - its like a mini community!

I have to say, that I moved to Wadalba, and found it to be lovely homes in some pretty streets, but I also found that the majority of the teens and some of their parents were people that I would call less than desirable, as far as schools go, the only one that would have my recommendation would have to be Lakes Grammar an Anglican School...We tried sending our children to Wadalba Community School, what a disaster that was. If you doubt this just check the daily telegraphs story on the school, also there isn't enough to entertain the older kids, so unless you are willing to drive a distance they are stuck at home, or wandering the streets getting up to no good.....I would never in a million years move back, though I do visit occassionally as we made some lovely friends!! I hope that it changes in the near future, but it doesn't seem likely, due to the socio-economic environment of the surrounding areas!
