Sue-Ellen Oxenbould has managed rental properties in Blackheath for at least 15 years. She is a true local who has raised two remarkable children in Blackheath who now have thriving careers. She was my property manager for many years always amenable and responsive. She picked me up after a roadside accident left me unconscious on the verge and drove me home. Recently she has overseen a mammoth rental hunt which was characterised by urgency and fussiness on my part with changing residential priorities. She soon zeroed in on what I needed and at the nadir of my dying hopes, just as the market seemed to come alive with competition, apprised me calmly that, at last, an application for a house I love was approved. Throughout the process she drove me round, was always spot on time for inspections, showed me houses before they were listed, answered a load of emails, remained quietly caring and always left the decision to me. When I finally came upon a beautiful blue cottage, with a new kitchen, bath, slow combustion fireplace, gas bayonet, and three generous bedrooms with roomy robes, and polished kauri pine floorboards, built circa 1900 she streamlined the moving process so that I have arranged a holding deposit, all the utilities including internet in one day., finding the most economic services available. Alleviating stress seems to be second nature for SUE-ELLEN. Nor is anything too much trouble, while maintaining a serene rapport with both tenant and landlord. I have written at length because, she is self effacing and seems unaware of the bounteous effect of her actions. The ability to make people happy is rare and it is a gift she dispenses with outward equanimity, masking I think great mustering of hard work, multi-tasking, wry humour, patience and a genuine love of her clients and workmates. She is surrounded by delightful people. Erica Scanlan, Ashley, Lara and many others. This makes dealing with the Blackheath branch of Ray White, a true pleasure. I look forward to a long and happy association with them. In the meantime, I feel literally like I am coming home.
