I'm a resident of Yanchep for more than 10 years and love the charms of this former fishing village. There a lot of different "pockets" within Yanchep and a huge variety of properties, catering to all tastes.
Some new estates surrounding the original old part of Yanchep offering different lifestyle options.
There are 3 primary schools and 1 secondary school in Yanchep and Yanchep Central Shopping Center has different shops as well as Woolworths and Aldi supermarket.
Yanchep train station is due to open end 2022 and so far work is on schedule!

Cannot answer for Yanchep but I can for Alkimos.
Alkimos is made up of four areas.
Alkimos Vista, Alkimos Beach Shorehaven and Trinity.
At Shorehaven the WA Government are building a new primary school with a capacity for approx 650 students which is a two story design which is due for completion at end of 2021. In Alkimos Beach Estate they currently have a primary school which is running over capacity and some of these students will locate to Shorehaven at start of 2022.
In Trinity a new high school college was completed in 2020 approx and I believe it has a good reputation.
Additional there are two private schools ..St James College which is nearing year twelve level as this school is currently being expanded with more classrooms being constructed....two storey design. This school has an excellent reputation. Additionally there is a further private college called Northshore which I believe is a Christian school which also has a good reputation.
Safety....let's say I've live in the Shorehaven Beach side for 7 years and we have had no problems...
The only problems we have had is with the Estate Developer and that is a long story. Having said that we are in no rush to leave...as the Northern suburbs is a fast growing area...within a few years we will have our own railway station and connection to the Mitchell Freeway...

I have occupied a home in Yanchep after 19 months of build .I have put it on the market as I am fed up of the neighbours and surroundings Its a pity that land blocks are sold cheaply attracting yobbos. Drive around Yanchep and judge by the type of cars being parked! Alkimos has a lot of homes comprised of 270 square blocks and makes it a HIGH DENSITY area. I am heading back to around the Carine area where the residents are Classy!
