Moving to caboolture

I was thinking about moving to caboolture from the Mornington peninsula in Vic with my 2 girls. I saw the house prices and got excited thinking I could semi retire easy enough. But I've read some pretty bad reviews about drugs and being unsafe with break in and police doing nothing about it. Would this be a good place for myself and my girls? I want them to be happy and safe. Thanks

Recently moved to Caboolture and couldn't be happier. We're renting near Pumicestone shopping village in North Caboolture. Daughter's in primary school, and we've enrolled her in Caboolture Montessori which will go up to high school. Neighbours are all friendly, kids ride their bikes with their friends and go to the shops, pretty quiet at night. All the new estates are well planned with playgrounds and dog parks. Plenty of restaurants and things to do. We've done our shopping in Pumicestone, Caboolture town centre, and Morayfield, and Burpengary. All were fine, not busy, easy to park, staff and locals were friendly. Same goes for the library, sports fields and facilities. There are more shops and developments happening. I'm a woman in my early 30's. I feel safe and my daughter is so much happier here. The coast and Bribie Island are nearby, the rainforest is in the other direction, we take the train into the city whenever, and Sunshine Coast is only 30 mins away.

We're building our house in Caboolture South. Use to live on the Sunshine Coast for 4 years, and Brisbane for 6 years prior. We frequently visited Caboolture over the past year to buy or build, and then to find a rental in or around Caboolture. All of the areas with estates that were built in the last few years (including surrounding suburbs) were fine.

All the best!

Hi Davem16, we sell and manage a lot of properties in Caboolture. There are good areas and bad areas. The northern part of Caboolture around Pumicestone Estate has really come ahead over the past 10 years. We are selling houses in the area to lots of families - see example attached https://affinityproperty.net.au/property/20-granger-street/
Also, the area near the hospital around Central Lakes has some nice streets and is family friendly. Like all suburbs, its important to search for the good areas and learn what facilities and services are nearby. Kind regards, Sean

Like any location, Caboolture has its good and bad pockets. Predominately it is not a terrible place, however you will encounter a few locations that are not ideal. Ensuring you lock your home, have security in place and are sensible I am sure you will find it a great and convenient location to live.
