Where is the best place to live north of brisbanes cbd

First question: How far are you prepared to drive to work because that's obviously a big factor. Any kids etc. What are you looking for in an area? (i.e.beaches, nightlife etc). Let me know and I'll try and help.

Partner works in kedron, no kids, I looked for ages, I didn't have a job when we came up. I looked for places to live and the best place I found was chermside, we have been living here for 3 weeks now and I love it. We currently went down to Sydney and I just couldnt wait to come back home. Finding a job was so easy for me and it's only a 2min walk down the road. I would recommend chermside to anyone, and it's funny the amount of people I have meet in the past few weeks that have moved up here from Sydney.. It's great and I'm happy we moved to chermside.
But as we are both young I dint know what the night life is like around here..?
Do we have to go all the way to brisbanes cbd to go out and have a few drinks..?
I have been to the kedron-wavell club and it was like a little casino..
I love the area..
