Reviews of Lydiard Street North, Soldiers Hill
"A grand and beautiful street"
Gorgeous, tree lined, historic buildings, station, theatre, cinemas, hotels, cafe's, grand old residences. You can't beat it. I pinch myself often that I get to live on such a beautiful street with so many facilities in walking distance.

Looking for a home in Lydiard Street North?
"Tree lined street, nice Victorian homes to the north, Entertainment and business to the south."
To the north; its like traveling back in time, with the old Victorian period homes sitting proudly along the street. Driving up the street you will see double and single story terraces, grand old hotels, churches, and small shops. The neighbors love where they live, and amenities are not far away. The Lydiard St train station is also handy, on the edge of the cbd.
On the south end of the street, there is the business district. There you can find restaurants, movie theater (including gold class), many bars/hotels (including the famous Craigs Hotel), large woman's Gym, Asian + Indian groceries etc and the legal district at the far end.
You may have seen this street on TV:
- in the latest Victoria Bitter commercial (with the parade)
- soon-to-be-aired AAMI insurance commercial
- The Lydiard St train station was used in filming in the Australian movie "Ned Kelly".
Lydiard Street is a great place to live and/or work !
