Reviews of South Street, Marrickville
"Quiet, pretty street close to everything"
Lovely street in close proximity to both the Dulwich Hill and Marrickville urban centres on Marrickville rd. It gets very little thorough through traffic and neighbours are very friendly. Houses look well maintained and many have retained their character features. Parking can be a bit competitive but at least it’s a flat street so a little bit of a walk to your house is not too arduous. Plane noise is what it is in Marrickville- difficult to escape unless you live closer to the Earlwood end. Have really enjoyed our time since moving here.

"Good street in a sought-after area"
I lived in this street for several years and never had any security problems at all. It was quiet as it is not really a thoroughfare to anywhere. Most of the homes are pretty old. Ours was the big, long Federation-style home with a great hallway and large, old-fashioned rooms. Most backyards aren't very big but then what do you expect in inner-city Sydney. At one end of the street is busy Marrickville Rd so keep away from this end if you can. At the other end is a park with good kids' equipment. South St isn't far from shops, restaurants and schools. Most homes don't have garages or carports so be prepared for on-street parking. An old area that will only go up in value as Sydney gets bigger.
