@angryaussie - I can see you have an obvious disdain for the area but you are not being very informative nor helpful to the question at hand. If you have driven along Centenary Highway recently you will see the Springfield train line is definitely under-way which will bring about two more train stations on the Richland's line - these will be Springfield Lakes and Springfield Central. In relation to Forest Lake - their train station is Richlands - all buses in the Forest Lake area take you directly to this station quite a few times a day (should jump on Translink and this will give you when and how often). In relation to the other suburbs named (which by the way are older suburbs in comparison to Springfield & Forest Lake) have been without these train lines since the beginning and you should take it up with your local council if you were promised these when buying in the area. In relation to jobs again - angryaussie sadly you are mistaken - we have the most movement out this way in relation to housing development, you also have central access to either go to Ipswich direction or the city direction for work. Orion Springfield (shopping centre) has now agreed to begin their 3rd stage so we have a few more services becoming available in the area. If you are in the professional industry then it might be a little bit harder for job search but in relation to other services I would consider we are pretty much like any other suburb in the South East Queensland. For example hospitality jobs are predominant where as hairdressing jobs may be a little more limited ... I hope this helps :-)

Perhaps it might be prudent to read this linking PDF on Springfield. the train line has already been pushed out from 2013 to 2015 according to this, The population for Springfield is mentioned along with the ;intention' for Springfield to become a city sometime between 2026 and 2030. My point with all of this is that I will endeavour to discourage ANYONE from buying into a new estate / suburb where the infrastructure has yet to be designed, budgetted for, allocated resources for or indeed is still on the drawing board for that matter. It is high time we stopped believing the spin doctors who always promise things in the future. Experience and history has shown Queensland to have a shocking reputation in that regard. To give a further example of this, checkouit the housing developments at Ripley, Yamanto, around Amberley and so on. There is NOTHING in those areas except a road in and a road out. ALL roads lead to Rome they say .... in this case the Ipswich highway or the DARRA train station. It is disgusting the level of planning that is NOT taking place , combined with the total lack of honesty by developers and council alike.

There is no work in springfield Lakes .... unless you work from home.
Done believe what anyone says about a train service being available either .... there has been no train service available anywhere south west of Brisbane from Greenbank, Jimboomba, etc to Forestdale, Forest Lake, Springfield Lakes, Springfield for well over 30 years despite numerous promises . Believe it when you can actually go buy a ticket. thats the honest truth.

It depends what area of employment you are looking for? Springfield will also have a train station available from 2013 too - so your job looking wouldn't have to be restricted to Springfield. Also in 'Springfield' there is also Springfield Lakes and Springfield Central. Our transport system here can also connect you to Goodna, Redbank and Richland (train stations) areas.
