"Lifestyle + Serene Sunrises"
Located a 40min drive into the city during peak, Margate is a handy suburbs located on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
Plenty of shops and professional services to choose from and only a few mins drive to Redcliffe where there is 20+ food outlets to choose from, Margate has it all.

"Quaint village with beach"
Only 25 minutes drive down Sandgate Road in non peak time to Fortitude Valley. Very peaceful, quaint village feel and with affordable housing. The beach is peaceful and not crowded. A much needed new coffee shop, bar and restaurant just opened on Marine Parade. Great, relaxing lifestyle.
"Nice east of oxley"
As the title states, nice east of oxley! Great park at suttons beach, close to redcliffe cafes and restaurants, woolworths, gyms medical centres ect. In general great for families and is a close community. Likes many suburbs, margate has its good streets and not so good streets.
Great for
- Freindly 'country town ' atmosphere
Not great for
- Could do with a pub close by (but redcliffe is just a stumble away)

"Fell in love at first sight"
We have lived in Margate for just over 12 months and moved away from the city (enoggera) after falling in love with the peninsula. Margate was the ideal option for us after many months of research as it blended the convenience of multiple shopping options, a quiet lifestyle and proximity to both public transport and the beautiful Moreton Bay. Margate is nestled between the a more bustling Redcliffe and the scenic Woody Point and we could not have chosen a better place to raise a young family.
Great for
- Shopping options and opening hours
- Freindly 'country town ' atmosphere
- Location suited to all (families, singles, proffessionals and retirees)
Not great for
- Could do with a pub close by (but redcliffe is just a stumble away)

Yes you could although if you need to go to the city often you will need to take buses and/or train from sandgate, there is a new rail link being put in but that will go from north lakes via Petrie

"Miles from anywhere ... nothing to do"
Woody Point is pretty good though.

Woody Point is pretty good though? It's the immediate suburb south and has less than Margate. Ridiculous review.
Hi seo75.
You must not exercise, have kids or eat out. I can't understand how you could rate parks, health and fitness and restaurants poorly. There are a number of gyms that offer superb facilities at a fraction of the price of most Brisbane city gyms. The bike tracks and walking paths are also great for outdoor exercise. The parks and beaches are great for kids. New restaurants are popping up everywhere and trendy retail outlets are also starting to emerge. How long has it been since you've been to Woody Point or Margate???? Yes, the Redcliffe Peninsula is miles from many places and if you like to party or you work in the city it is a bit of trek. But I love it here!! And I would definitely recommend for families.

Hi, could someone please tell me if you would be able to live in Margate without a car?
Hi, you can quite easily live without a car in margate. In terms of working close to city or pretty much anywhere else out of redcliffe pennisula, I imagine it would be hard without a car. There are locals buses, but no train lines facilitated as yet. Nearess train station would be sandgate and from there you would catch a bus which take approximately 15 mins.
