Reviews of Schofields, NSW
"Suburb with no character"
Suffocating suburb with back to back builds. Lot of shady real estate agents operate in this suburb who should be reported to fair works. Substandard apartment sized duplexes are asking for millions. Shrewd homeowners combined with untrustworthy real estate agents are a big red flag and say a lot about this suburb.
"This is it!"
This is it! Schofields is a great growing suburb with newish homes, streets, great transport, schools and the list goes on. All the positives you are looking for in a family type suburb, you can find it here. Only down side is distance…but distance is a relative thing – it depends on where you need to get to. Even if you stay in a place like Marrickville, travelling to Parramatta or Macquarie Park is not smooth sailing whereas to get to those places from Schofields is fine.

"Good suburb for growing family"
Very convenient public transport to Metro and Station, save a lot of time for commuting to office by car. Very new schools and small class with exceptional care of teacher. Woolworth and Schofields village serve everyday need. Friendly community, most growing family

"Alright"
Schofields is full of new development houses & few apartment complexes. I've lived here for 3years now & people who live here are mostly families. There's one school here, so many kindergartens but no vacancies witch really sucks. There's no decent parks here for kids to play & still lots of development going on everywhere. We've got Schofields village opening up soon, witch coles & other small cafes witch is great because right now we only have about 2 cafes in here. There's also woolworths & train station next to it. We really need more footpaths in the area as well.

"Growing like a beast"
When I bought the property back in 2017 it was all under construction but after living here for more than a year it has changed to a well developed suburb. Close to metro, new shopping village coming soon, school already commenced and future plan of metro meeting at railway station and to St Mary will help it grow further. More importantly people here are kind and supportive which reflect with smiling faces passes by and will say Hi when out and about.

"Fantastic suburb developing well for the future"
With the metro connecting to the city as well as the existing Schofields station, this suburb has alot to offer. Once the metro connects from St Marys to the upcoming Western Sydney Airport, this suburb will grow even further. There are also the confirmed plans for Rouse Hill Hospital, and an abundance of shopping centres and amenities. Plenty of parks and a new town centre make this suburb appealing for families.

in the meantime we wait for it to grow..
Yes, there is so much opportunity for growth. The ripple effect from our neighbours in Rouse Hill and The Ponds will definitely push prices upwards. It's just a matter of time. We are already seeing a pretty big increase from 2021 in the housing prices.
"North-West suburb"
Most reasonably priced suburb in North-West, though prices have increased by 80% overall in the last 5 to 7 years. And it’s on the rise
Access to Schofields station, Tallawong station, Rouse Hill Town Centre, Schofields village centre, 1 new & 1 re-constructed primary schools (with good ratings), upcoming sports field and one of the finest cafe in the 10 kms radius just happens to be here.
Get in while you can !

"Great suburb and very well underrated"
I have lived in Schofields for 3 years and the neighbourhood is great. The area could probably do a few extra playground but due to its quiet neighbourhood, I don’t have to be too overprotective of my kids playing in the front yard. The suburb is clean and everything is under 5 minutes drive from shopping centres, station, playground and schools. The council still has more development for the suburb so I’m looking forward to what’s in store. I highly recommend living here!

"Love living here"
Close to schools, easily accessible transportation, close to shopping centres, great and safe neighbourhood. Lived here for almost 2 years and apart from the on going road works in the area, it’s a great suburb. Our family loves the neighbourhood and the community is great too.

"Very Underrated Suburb"
I was shocked when i came to see this suburb as it's a brand new and anything like that in western sydney , I didn't expected .
It is s close to metro station and train station and people love their homes here lol
I moved form Northern beaches and was struggling to find a home in hills district of my choice and never though that i will buy in western Sydney
but this suburb sold itself to me .
It is a big change for me but considering the home prices now and future prospects of property here .It is the best.
Most underrated in property values .

good honest review. thank you! how much would be a decent 4 bedroom house here?
Purchased 4 bed 2 car home late last year for $860K aprox. Property is 4 year old. Needs a little TLC but good foundation. Prices gone up since then. Get assistance from a good mortgage broker to guide you.
"Very Happy with this place"
Hey guys, so many good things happening at Schofields.

"Needs more transport help!"
Nice potential. This suburb will be a real beaut in the future. However, the problem with it now is that there is not enough bus lines servicing the TNSW rail station and the Metro station. There also needs to be an M7 SOUTH off-ramp and on-ramp off Quakers Hill Parkway. M7 southern travellers have to trek through Doonside and all the way to Richmond Road to get on the motorway. This adds half an hour to the trip - especially in heavy traffic!!

"Underrated Suburb"
Amazing place, great housing. Schools aren't the best, and connection to CBD by car isn't the best either unless you want to use M2, but otherwise, it is very clean, modern and convenient. 20 minutes from a country-like drive further than Windsor, 40 minutes from everywhere else. Link to Metro means you can be upscale and visit the Hills often or experience the culture in Blacktown City Council. Amazing suburb. (Do need a car to get around though).

Hi Card, thanks for your comment. Would you like to share your experience as well for the benefit of other please.
Incorrect, also you must live in The ponds as you gave it a perfect rating.
You know that Schofields is still under construction hence messy and dirty. Infrastructure isn't finished yet. Neither is the Ponds region.
The south side of railways station looks to be existing residents but north side is new estate as well as under construction.
If you call residents who drive nice cars and look after their nice houses bogans. You must extremely high standards then. Mind you Schofields looks to be the little brother of the Ponds anyway.
First of all for all who don't speak aussie slang, explain what is bogans please. from reading the other 2 comments here, I am guessing you are referring to rich people? please explain what you see what you like and what you don't like so we , living in other countries, can check and see if this area might work for us.
bogan - an uncultured and unsophisticated person; a boorish and uncouth person.
The word "bogan" is derogatory and carries with it a variety of stereotypes. Bogans typically wear ugg boots, or thongs in summer.
Amy - I live in newly rezoned Tallawong ( north Scofield's) and there are no Bogans here. The demography is middle to upper class residents. Good schools, nearly shops. Very quite and mostly safe streets at night. Transport infrastructure can do with improvements but residents and neighbors quite friendly.
The Ponds is a bit more upper class however it is 200K more expensive just as a comparison.
I wouldn't call it that safe. Around 3 months ago I was walking along Jerralong Drive towards the station to pick up my wife from the train station at around 9:30pm, and coming the other way was a small man, maybe around 18? With his shirt off yelling, I crossed the road to try and avoid him and he started yelling at me threatening to kill me, knock me out calling me a pu***. I've lived in many places including a dodgier side of Brisbane (upper mount gravatt) and never felt unsafe at any time of the night (even after one night of being outside after looking myself out), as well of 2 other parts of Sydney. Never been threatened like this before. The area also has quite a few loud lads who pop up occasionally, near the station/plaza ect. Not sure where they spawn from, sometimes screaming at a bus driver and kicking a bus before it leaves. Lived here for around 9 months and likely won't renew the rent contract.
this guy and that card guy seemed biased, by commenting at the same time on Schofields and Ponds, looks engineered comments to me.

"worst suburb"
This is the worst suburb I lived in, it is far from everything especially Castle Hill, Cherrybrook, Pennant Hills, etc. All the people are dodgy and tradies and in general dress really bad compared to living in those other suburbs. Such an embarrassment to live here. It doesnt matter if your house looks good if they suburb is this dodgy. Also even the name of this suburb is so embarrassing. I dont even want to say I live in Schofields!
What an immature comment... say that a name of a suburb is dodgy! OMG! Nothing that you say is true, many doctors, engineers, architects live in Schofields. Range Rovers, Audi, Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW are the car brands that you see in Schofields car park. Only people who likes quite life.
Sounds like patriciak8 couldn't afford to buy a house in Schofields.....Sour grapes syndrome! hah
so how do you say sho-fields? what is embarrassing about this name..? I get it not everyone may dress nice, but what if they are nice people.. talk about the people. are they friendly? would you be able to make friends easily there? what type of entertainments do they have for week ends or friday nights.. what kind of jobs do you have there? these are the kind of things I am looking for when I read comments.
"One of the fastest growing suburb"
Very high potential growth for schofield as large government infrastructure project planned in coming years. About 23min train ride from parramatta (20KM). Future Sydney Metro interchange at Schofield Station.
Also new Marsden Business Park only 10min.
Block of land and house option available with well known developers like Stockland, Akuna Vista etc. Newly built parks and playground for kids.

"Family Friendly and Convenient Suburb."
This suburb is rapidly growing and has everything you might need to raise a family ..Good School, Day Care, Woolworth, Huge Train Station and eatery all easily accessible. Have recently bought a home there which is due to completion within couple of months. Super happy with our decision to reside here.

"Schofields is a suburb to watch for!"
Schofields is a place to watch if I were you! It is located just halfway between Rouse Hills to the east and Marsden Park to the west, both of which are rapidly growing. There is also an upgrade of Schofields road traversing Schofields connecting Rouse Hill and Marsden Park. This gives Schofields residents an easy access to M7 via Richmond Rd as opposed to the congested Windsor Rd. Not to forget, the preferred route of future expansion of north west rail link is thru to the Marsden Park via Schofields. Potentially Schofields train station will be a busy and critical interchange connecting north west rail link to the main T1 line eventually leading to airport line!! Wait and see in the next 5 years!
Great for
- Potential future growth (due to growing neighboring suburbs)
- Sustainable growth
- Excellent public transport in near future

Not great for
- Socio economy gaps between new and existing residents
- Too remote to live now

"Good but without a car you can't do anything"
If you like country side, not afraid by long train travel to the city or traffic jam while drive to the city, this place is ok.
A car is mandatory as bus lines are very poor.
There few shops and a wooly near the train station, but for the rest you have to drive at least 15 to 20 min when traffic is good.
We definitely looking for going back closer to the city.
Even the kids ( 4 and 7) think this place is to quiet and there are upset to take the car to move

"Schofields - living amongst the Hills District without the cost!"
Schofields is the place for the next generation of families from the Hills District. Those who grew up in the Hills District and want to stay there but are not willing to foot the massive financial pressures, like our parents did by having a house in Castle Hill, Norwest, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville or Rouse Hill.
Schofields has more to offer than your average suburb, it is nestled in behind all the brand new homes in 'The Ponds' estates so it is perfect for the young family wanting to settle in an area that will have astronomical capital gains over the coming years.
The development of the "North West Growth Centre" will ensure a massive increase in dwellings and infrastructure including new roads and a new train station.
The suburb has two convenient options for shopping, Stanhope Gardens and the Rouse Hill town centre on Windsor road.
Location in respect to transport could not be better with Windsor rd, Old Windsor road, M2 and M7 all within a few minutes drive and of course our very own train station.
The spirit of the neighbours to my experience has only ever been endeering, the area offers great peace and quiet away from the main roads and there are no issues of congestion or parking. The shopping centres offer great medical services and a 5 minute drive will have you arriving at the brand new Hospital at Norwest.
Norwest Boulevard is one of the largest business parks in the north west region and provides more than enough quality job opportunities for those located in Schofields. The area is a safe one with no need for its own police station and recreational parks and football fields are in abundance. The area also offers a number of child care options within a few minutes drive and also has a number of primary and High schools particularly in the Alex avenue area of the suburb.
The brand new train station on Burdekin rd gives commuters the option of taking trains directly to Parramatta or the Sydney CBD. All in all, im a proud owner of a home in Schofields and look forward to the fruitfullness and increase the area has to offer and would recommend any family moving to Schofields.

Hello Jaysvee, the brand new train station is on Burdekin rd / Railway Terrace which is just west of the Alex avenue precinct.
Hi Frank,
oh yea tru, well its close to railway terrace and grange avenue. But yea u can say burdekin road aswell, its algud.
Does the Train station have a name yet, so that I can may be check out the routes how to get there ? I am looking to buy in the area and would love to have the train option. I was looking into Kings Langley, The Ponds etc.. but none of them have a train staion.
"An ordinary suburb!"
Hi, just went to schofields on the other day to look for some properties but when I got there I was in shock!. As some people wrote before that it is an upcoming suburb, but to me I think that suburb will start to develop in next 5-10 years of time and that is a long time away. The area close to quakers hill and the ponds is quite developed but other than that there's nothing there except for farms and animals. The Schofields station is well constructed but what you gonna do with just the station as it surrounded by remote areas. I don't think moving to that area right now is a good choice unless you like living in those type of areas.
Great for
- Nice Railway Station
Not great for
- Too remote to live now
- Don't see it as developed area
- Some roads

Too remote!
Rouse Hill town center is less than 5 minutes drive away. Castle Hill is 10 minutes away and Parramatta is 20 minutes away. I can be in the city in 45 minutes.
Well, i am not saying about shopping options. Saying "remote" means that you see the area surrounded by station is all open nothing developed there. Only the area close to quakers hill is developed with good homes. But now many builders have bought the land close to the station, so yea still don't prefer there to live.
Well, thats my opinion and everyone has there own review.
Does the Train station have a name yet, so that I can may be check out the routes how to get there ? I am looking to buy in the area and would love to have the train option. I was looking into Kings Langley, The Ponds etc.. but none of them have a train staion.
Jaysvee...it's not so much about how it looks like now though. It's about how sustainable it can grow for years to come. For me it has a huge potential to grow sustainably. What would happen once they extend north west rail link to Marsden park via Schofields, with an aim to connect to T1 line? It's an interchange! As for the road traveler, it's more to do with how fast you can get to M7. The best way to achieve that is to get to Richmond Rd in Marsden Pk which is way wider than the Windsor Rd!! With the upgraded Schofields Rd, Schofields residents have even more options on how to get to M7 (Windsor Rd, Quaker hills pkwy, Richmond Rd, etc).

"One of a Kind - It's Paradise Personified"
The minute we laid eyes on the place, it was like an oasis - far removed from it's surrounds. Not that there is anything wrong with the vast bush reserve and parklands surrounding it and shielding it from typical "suburbia". We lived in West Pennant Hills prior and so I am fascinated by the lush greenery, topography, birdsong and bush surrounds here at Stonecutters Ridge (so akin to Cumberland Forest!) and it so easy for me to say despite the Western Sydney location, the surrounds easily compare. We fell in love with the area, even long before all the amenities have been completed....just envisaging the finished product was in itself euphoria and so we promptly secured a block (they are not the current typical "squishy" blocks being sold everywhere currently and the price is not that bad at all) and so we are now on the verge of fulfilling our dream home and living in "Paradise". Not to mention my second dream of chasing birdies and building a decent handicap next to Greg Norman who so happened to be a part of the Golf Course's design. Kudos to Medallist Holdings for their vision!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Colebee, what a beautiful place to live!"
We recently purchased a block of land at Stonecutters Ridge and its such a beautiful place, once the Greg Norman Designed Championship Gold Course is completed mid 2011, this estate will be outstanding. If your looking to live at Stonecutters Ridge, then be quick prices are rising and its well worth the $$$. Location, location, location as they say!!

Agree with many child care centres but no vacancies. But I don't agree with just one school and decent park. Among many new parks, Altrove Hilltop park is a decent one with lots of activities for kids and necessary amenities. They are adding exercise area which is almost finished. Schofields village centre is now open and is very exciting.
