Reviews of Toukley, NSW
"Small village atmosphere"
A small village where people are neighbourly - there are mostly elderly people in Toukley with families with small children starting to move in. Only small shops along main road plus Coles and Aldi. Close to beach and lakes. Very little traffic. good medical facilities. Two gyms - curves and toukley family medical practise gym and physio. Many varied medical practises and PRP diagnostics, pathologies, etc. Townsite needs some cleaning up and TLC but is being improved all the time. Vandalistic and noisy elements are being stamped out by vigilant police and residents. Toukley is improving and becoming a lovely town to live in that welcomes clean living, responsible residents. Very nice patrolled beaches close by, restaurants and coffee shops, Toukley RSL club and other clubs, two large shopping centres not too far away - Lake Haven and Westfield Tuggerah both with SupaCentas.

I want to ask is there any chance of any houses on lease or something to rent
"Village by the Sea."
Toukley is rapidly changing from its retirement village reputation into a hip and happening village by the Sea. Quality beaches like Soldiers and Lakes beach are close by, so close that you can hear the waves crashing on most still nights. Toukley is defiantly value for money considering its location! There is a great atmosphere around Toukley with a lot of community events taking place in and around the village green. Restaurants and cafe's are popping up everywhere. The chillax cafe, Thai continue and Simply Sicilian, just to name a few. These great restaurants are often bursting at the seams with a crowds of happy dinners.
Thumbs up for Toukley!

"Quiet but growing coastal community"
Such a hidden gem of the central coast. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle down south, but got enough going on to really love. Great for kids, especially active ones. So many great beaches/waves near by, great bush walks all around - including the beautiful national park just 10 mins away. Long jetty/blue bay/Toowoon bay just 15 mins drive.
Toukley has heaps going for a cute little town, especially for growing families. Skateparks, tennis courts, swim centres, great coffee shops, a growing amount of good restaurants. An affordable place to buy but not missing out on community. It’s safe and friendly and we have loved it here.

"Increasingly Popular"
Once a sleepy fishing village Toukley is becoming an increasingly popular destination for retirees, investors and families. The cafe scene is growing rapidly with the recent pop up of several new trendy hot spots. The close proximity of Toukley and easy to walk streets make this an ideal spot for retirees. The main street is becoming increasingly busy with an array of shops and buildings including medical centers, pathology, library, pharmacies, boutiques, eateries and restaurants.
Bus is a popular mode of public transport providing easy access to Westfield, hospitals and train station. Schools in Toukley include both catholic and public primary schools. Positioned between Budgewoi Lake and Tuggerah Lakes, this suburb offers endless possibilities for exercise and relaxation. Very popular Soldiers Beach is only a 10 minute drive away.
As we see the completion of more options of affordable housing, it will be interesting to see how this impacts the community.

"Great community feel"
We moved to Toukley just over 2 years ago, and never want to leave. The sense of community is wonderful. Our children go to the local school (which is amazing) and are proud to do so. It is 5 mins to the beaches and shops with parks interspersed. They hold community events at the Village Green which we always attend and really enjoy. A great place for families!

"Relaxed coastal lifestyle..."
Toukley is blessed with variety of coastal lifestyle aspects. In my opinion, the main benefit is that residents may enjoy the modern conveniences of more developed Central Coast areas, without the masses of tourists and general traffic that we find in the more glamorous Central Coast locations. We can already notice how areas like The Entrance,Terrigal and especially Avoca Beach are getting busier by the day, and if you've ever tried to find a park at Terrigal Beach close to the beach (i have an 8ft surf board to carry from the car to the beach), you'd find it nearly impossible, from as early as 9am on a week-day.
To our delight, Toukley and surrounds offer a hassle-free option for those who want to enjoy the best that the coast has to offer. In particular, I have enjoyed the recently opened Light House Cafe, which is buzzing with atmosphere. There is ample parking, and play areas for kids. I should mention that the food is delicious and quickly prepared too!
Closer to the town-centre, you can expect the usual selection of central conveniences. News Agents, Pharmacy, DVD-Rental, Bakery, Nursery, etc. One of my favorite Cafes, Chillax, is on Main Rd East Toukley, and have perfected the art of the intimate cafe-dining experience; try the Chillax Burger. There are many other restaurants and cafes to mention, but this isn't a food-review.
The heavier business district of Toukley offers exactly what you'd expect to find. There are plenty of facilities and services available, and with the proximity of major shopping-centres, you'll want for nothing.
As a previous post implied, George Brand Real Estate operates in the Area, with a prominent premises at 301 Main Rd, Toukley. We have a solid reputation and have built a loyal fan-base over the years, and we could not have achieved that without sound ethics, good service principles and an enthusiastic approach to our clients. Feel free to check us out @ http://www.georgebrand.com.au/

"A great little town"
Toukley is a great little town.
Its a 1 minute drive or 5 min walk to the best beaches on the coast.
Has some great little cafe and resturants and is very resonably priced.
Can get busy on summer holidays but the clubs and pubs have a great vibe around that time.

"good for those on very low incomes"
i like it because im a quiet person but at the moment toukley has a massive rodent and cockroach infestation. the water absolutely stinks from pollution. your range of telephone and internet is poor (telstra and small unknown companies, but not optus dodo vodafone or virgin).
police ambulance and fire brigade sirens are always booming but traffic is usually alright. alot of crime as the put the people from jail into the caravan park on main road.
eating out is good though plenty of good food around and specials on most nights, and the clubs have alot of free entertainment.
transport is good with a bus to lake haven, wyong, tuggerah, the entrance, budgewoi and norah head. not far from the beach. most of the houses in the area are shacks and very old so thats why the rent is cheap. the real estates leave much to be desired especially george brand.
the people are lovely, and some are too nice. if you want to know anything about the place just ask someone there because they are all lovely to chat too.
you cannot get into the medical centres for months as they are all booked out.
they have a wonderful markets every sunday. shops are close but coles at toukley is not as good as lakehaven, so catch a bus over there - cheaper and better quality as well as customer service.
