Crissy, I don't mean to dis' you, but can you confirm you have actually lived in all - if any - of these suburbs? I find it highly unlikely you could have spent any more than a week in Burleigh and have given it such low scores for Shopping and Nightlife. You're a stones throw from all-night parties (even on the beach!), some of the BEST restaurants I have ever been too, and the most ecclectic arrangement of shops. Not to mention having The gargantuan Robina Shoping Centre just down the road. I enjoyed every minute in Burleigh and think it's a shame you didn't agree.
You need to seriously live somewhere before you comment!! This area is a beautiful spot in Toowoomba.
"the gold caost at its worst"
this is congested, full of holiday makers, and unfortunate elements that are attracted to these kinds of areas
It's obvious this person has not spent a lot of time in Southport. There aren't a lot of holiday makers here, it's more a residential community with bowls, tennis and croquet clubs as well as a shopping centre, theatres and the Broadwater Parklands. This is not a place for young tourists, it's for mature couples who want to live by the water and close to all amenities.
crissy2, not sure if you noticed but Noosa has no high rise buildings, traffic lights and meter parking that accompany city life ala Gold Coast. Noosa is a country town and hopefully still has that friendly laid sophistication that visitors love. Shame you couldn't have given the town better feedback.
Nothing like the Gold Coast. Upmarket and country feel, uncrowded beaches, great shopping, no high rises or metered parking. Best beaches on the east coast of Australia.
"It isn't the traffic -- it's the commute"
the mountain often gets jammed but the problem is that it is too far from everything. This is for retirees only.
"A very typical Brisbane suburb"
just lacks the interest of the suburbs closer to the city
Who lives here?
- Families with kids
"A very small town feel close to everything"
feels like a holiday community where everyone knows you. That can be a problem sometimes.
Can sometimes be a problem but it also has its benefits around security and friendships.
"Not a fan of canals or the gold coast"
too far from everything and reminds me of 80s excess
You have rated everything as one star this seems completely ridiculous to me. For example eating out 1/5 are you some of the best restaurants on the coast are in Broadbeach I totally disagree with this comment as it is misleading and absurd.
"Good high school and nice residential pockets"
the shopping centre and traffic is a bit of downside
Obviously you did not stay long enough to appreciate that Burleigh has the best beach, friendly cafes, great dining and interesting shops. Where could rate better than the Esplanade?
