Townsville City

"Visited in January, Moved here in June"

I visited Townsville in January from my former home in Wallan, Vic, I was very impressed. The humidity and heat was not unbearable, they do make Airconditioning and fans you know? I knew after spending a week here that I would move here within a year and I did, just before the Victorian lockdown. So grateful to be here now and the people here are nothing but supportive and friendly. Sarah - formely of Wallan now of Townsville

Hi Sarah, greeting from Wallan, VIC. How is Townsville? How cheap are rent or buy?

hallym

Like brand new 4 bedrooms for rent or buy? You obviously know how much this is in Wallan.

some of my friends here in townsville are all from vic and they say the same thing - warmer climate, no daylight savings and a quieter down-to-earth lifestyle

Taringa

"Wow a lot of agent reviews here"

A lot of agent reviews on here, talk about not being impartial. Taringa is like every suburb in Brisbane, pretty run down, dirty footpaths, houses in need of major renovation, creepy people around. No nice views. Its nothing to rave about but it isn't horrid either.

haha what are you talking about!? I have lived in Taringa for the past 10 years and it is none of the above! The western side of the train line has a few more older houses, but the area surrounding Perrin Park, Train station and up to the shops off Swan is all lovely, great people and families. Well maintained and plenty of facilities.

Collingwood Park

"Ugh"

Visited relatives here, yeh not impressed and neither are they. They are looking at relocating to Stockland North Shore in Townsville and I think its a great move.

I don't think this review does the suburb justice as there is an old part of Collingwood Park near Goodna and their is newer estates closer to Redbank plains. If you are visiting there is not alot in the area other than a Woolworths complex but near by there is plenty in either direction. It also depends what you are visiting the area for. In terms of living here, it has its pros and it's cons depending on which area you live in Collingwood Park. Doing your research helps but it's a great suburb to live in.

Ferny Grove

"Left Ferny Grove for Townsville"

I used to live here, didn't really think I made the best choice. It is too far out from everything and I didn't think there was much to see or do, now I live north in Townsville and love it here, some good memories made in FG but overall glad I left. The beaches here are fantastic and the recreating is leaps and bounds ahead, why live in some western hovel of Brisbane when you can live the beautiful life in Townsville?

Caboolture

"Just why?"

All that pristine land going for the ugliest suburbs ever, poor quality building and a lagging economy make this suburb a not so nice place to live or visit.

Do you live here at all or are you just bagging the area for no reason?. The region has some of the best riverside and acerage estates (one can find)

I went to high school there and later in life moved there as I had family in the area. I lived there for 20 yrs and moved march 2018. Up the sunny coast. As we know trouble can be in any suburb but as the years went on I would say things got worse in Caboolture. I will never return there again yes it is a cheaper place to buy and rent but that is what attracts more problems.

Brisbane (CBD)

"Never again."

I would never live in Brisbane again let alone the "CBD", the city was a bore and the place is so grubby.

"Proserpine is better."

Proserpine has more to offer families and has better infrastructure.

Hello, my young family are looking at moving to the airley area but I'm very unsure still and hoping you could tell me more? We have boys aged 6, 7 and 11. Safe and family friendly is my number one goal but also important is good schools, sporting facilities, safe places to swim, shopping facilities , not super touristy and overall friendly/ good community with low crime. Oh and I want to be surrounded by beautiful green trees and some privacy. I basically want it all and I don't know where that is
Appreciate any thoughts/advice on the above!

Proserpine

"A friendly town where people always lookout for you"

I have lived in Townsville, Brisbane, Airlie Beach and now Proserpine. I am really taken by the town and plan on putting down roots! It is the gem of the region. I recently injured myself playing sport and my neighbours were always checking on me if I needed any help at all, a refreshing experience. People are cheery and the vibe exudes optimism.

"Would't live here again"

I didn't like the place at all, the neighbours were not very friendly:( and there was't much to do for families.
