Hi. Does anyone know about early intervention services being available in Whalan and nearby areas?
My child has a ASD ( Autism) diagnosis. And we have just moved to Whalan from Melbourne. I need recommendations for :
1. A good speech therapist
2. OT ( occupational therapist)
3. Psychologist
4. Social skills group
5. A good Pediatrician with experience with ASD children
6. A good pre-school
And last but not the least good schools.

The best speech therapist I know is Dorothy, see http://www.wslhd.health.nsw.gov.au/Community-Health-Hospital/Mount-Druitt-Community-Health-Centre for where she works. That is good place to start asking about services for your child. Madang Public School http://www.madangave-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/years/preschool has a superb principal and good support for special needs kids. They also have a playgroup where you can meet other parents with ASD kids. If you have any problems, Ed Husic is our federal member, he has an office in Dawson Square behind the Westfield's Mall and his staff will always help. He is a great bloke and works hard for his electorate. Hope this helps and welcome to Whalan.
