What is the crime situation in Mackay?

Pretty bad I have heard. I live in Proserpine to the north of Mackay and we have hardly any crime, we would love to have you in our beautiful community! :)

Generally crime is isolated within those groups who partake in illegal activities.
From time to time, petty crime occurs when traveling opportunists pass through the area. The media are quick to report it.
